Stealing a victory from the previously undefeated Tigers on May 15, Western's Softball Team won the game by a score of 7-1.

Junior Brooke Pingleton threw all seven innings and gave up only five hits and two walks; she struck out ten girls. There were no runs until the bottom of the seventh when Senior Kristen Larrick scored with an RBI triple in the third. Sophomore Ally Davenport had a double and a single and drove two runs. Pingleton also added a double.

According to Western coach Jim Clouse, the girls played very aggressively, knowing that they had to win against Northwestern to be able to achieve the MIC.
