After handily defeating rival Hamilton Heights 14-5, the Panthers claimed the Mid-Indiana Conference championship.
The Huskies went into the bottom of the third inning with a two-run lead but failed to stop the 10-run onslaught by Western. From that point on, it was just a matter of pride for the Huskies.
Leading the Panthers at the plate were Junior Matt Reida and Sophomore Connor Love, who both had three hits. Senior Aaron Workman earned the victory with sophomores Brandon Larrick and Bo Weir pitching in relief.
