Langley grabbed its second Liberty District victory on March 25 with a solid, 14-0 road win over its neighbors from McLean.

Attacker Ethan Bailey led the productive Saxon offense with six goals while middie Charlie Scharfen provided a hat-trick.  A pair of goals from middie Joey Byrne plus single goals from Ryan Miller, Ryan Ningard and Tom Robinson rounded out the scoring.

Langley goalies Galen Kuney and Ryan Long combined for five saves, all late in the contest. The stingy Saxon defense denied the Highlanders any good looks until deep in the third quarter when the hosts got their first shot.

Byrne delivered the opening score with barely two minutes gone in the game, and when Ningard added a second less than a minute later the Saxons were in control and never in danger of a quick reply from the Highlanders.   Bailey picked up a hat-trick and Scharfen a pair of goals to get the Saxons to seven by half time.

That lead would have been even greater if not for a number of fine saves by McLean goalie Tyler Quinn, who faced a heavy Saxon offensive barrage through the entire game and totaled 17 saves.

Any thoughts that Langley might not be in the mood for further scoring after the half time intermission dissolved when long stickman Robinson struck within :14 seconds of the re-start.

Bailey added a second-half hat-trick, followed by goals from Byrne, Miller and Scharfen. McLean mounted better offensive pressure late in the game only to see Saxon goalkeeping thwart all on-target attempts to put the home team on the score sheet.
