Sixteen regional teams from across the United States gathered at the sprawling Germantown Soccerplex in Maryland, July 19-20, for a long, hot and very exciting weekend of lacrosse action in the 1st annual adidas National Lacrosse Classic. When the smoke cleared, 31 games had been played in a 24 hour span and the first national championship went to Rochester, which defeated Delmar Prep (Baltimore Private Schools), 9-8, in thrilling, back-and-forth championship game, which was not decided until the final 30-seconds.
In between, there were many great battles, as teams matched different styles, in an effort to advance earn the title. For its efforts, Rochester will now travel to Orlando, Fl., in December, to represent the United States in the Brogden Cup, a challenge series against Canada.
All 31 games of the ANLC were taped by
