A year after capturing it’s first ever Jr. Sunbelt Championship, the 2008 MHSBCA Jr. Sunbelt team finished the week in Oklahoma with an overall record of 2-6 to finish in 9th place.  On day one of the tournament, Team Missouri opened the tournament with a 15-11 win over Canada before dropping a close game to eventual runner-up Tennessee by a score of 1-3.  On day two, Team Missouri would drop a pair of games, losing to Georgia 1-16 and Oklahoma Blue 4-16.  Day three would bring a very tough loss to eventual champion Arizona by a score of 5-7.  Rain would come on day four and would give the team a much needed day of rest as all games were canceled.  Day 5 would see Team Missouri lose an exhibition game to the Durant Oklahoma Legion team that replaced California who was a late withdrawal from the tournament by a score of 1-8 as well as a heartbreaking loss to Texas by a score of 9-10.  Day 6 would bring the tournament to a close as Team Missouri would drop a back and forth battle to Mississippi by a score of 9-12 before bouncing back to defeat Oklahoma Gold by a score of 9-2 to end the tournament on a positive note.  Marquette High School infielder Mike Corbeil was named to the all-tournament team.

Despite the low finish, the Sunbelt Classic once again proved to be one of the premiere tournaments in America and all the players on Team Missouri enjoyed experiences that will last a lifetime.  Final standings for the tournament were as follows:  1.  Arizona 7-1;  2.  Tennessee 6-2; 3.  Georgia 5-3;  4.  Texas 5-3; 5.  Canada 3-5; 6.  Oklahoma Gold 3-5; 7.  Mississippi 3-5;  8.  Oklahoma Blue 2-6; 9.  Missouri 2-6.
