The 2008 Senior All-Stars were held on June 7th at Lindenwood University in St. Charles.  A great day of weather and outstanding players made for four exciting baseball games.

In the Class One game, pitching and defense stood out as the West won 3-0 behind 4 solid innings from starting pitcher and game MVP Scott Sory of New Haven.  In the Class Two game, pitching and defense again played a significant role with the East besting the West by a count of 3-1.  Class 2 MVP Andrew Pointer of Blair Oaks pitched two excellent innings to get the save.

The Class 3 game featured more offense as the East won 9-5.  MVP Maury Wilmes of St. Dominic had an outstanding day at the plate going 3-3 with two doubles and 3 RBI’s.  In the final game of the day, the Class 4 East team beat the West by a count of 6-4.  Mike Moore of Oakville was named MVP for his performance on the mound and at the plate.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s All-Stars go so well; Teri Seiler & Sports St. Charles, Bob Ryan & Prepcasts.com, Jimmy Hammond & Sports Image, and Diamond Sporting Goods.  In addition, a big shout out goes to Lindenwood University and especially Head Baseball Coach Doug Bletcher for allowing use of their facility.  Coach Bletcher and his staff exceeded all expectations.

I would personally like to thank all the coaches (and a couple of wives) for volunteering their time and effort and to the parents and family members who came out and supported these fine young men.
