 Steve Smith Introduced as New Commissioner

Steve Smith has been introduced by the MBFO selection committee as the new football commissioner.  He will replace longtime commissioner Leon Jones who did an outstanding job in continuing the MBFO's tradition of excellence in officiating.  Steve will step in with an impeccable resume and reputation which gave the committee the confidence in making him our new leader.

Some background on Steve:

- Member of the Maryland Board of Football Officials since 1971.  Former member of the Atlantic Central and Centennial Football Officials and the Southern Chapter, EAIFO.
- 30+ year member of the Maryland Wrestling Officials Association
- 30+ year member of the Maryland Officials Club.  Current Commissioner for Track & Field/Cross Country
- Track & Field/Cross Country Rules Interpreter for the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) since 1998.
- Currently a contract Programmer-Analyst for the Baltimore County Public Schools, Department Information Technology, Information Management Group
- Former employee of the Baltimore City Public Schools.  Served as a teacher, administrator, and Senior Systems Analyst. 
- Coached for several years at Lake Clifton and Archbishop Curley High Schools.
- Hold a BS degree from Loyola College and advanced degrees from Morgan State University and Loyola College.
- Graduate of Loyola High School
- Married for 38 years to Sandy with an adult foster son, 5 adult children, and 9 grandchildren.
