Ashburn (Sept. 30, 2008) - Stone Bridge High School unveiled Joan Windows as the Bulldogs new girls soccer coach Tuesday afternoon.

Windows (formerly Joan Kelso Smedley) replaces Rae Ann Taylor, who coached the last two seasons and was an assistant under Jim Felix for the 2005 AA state title winning team. Windows has an impressive resume with three straight state titles won while at River Hill in Maryland (1999, 2000, 2001). She is also a former Washington Post All Met Coach of the Year.

A former standout player at Wilde Lake High School and the University of Maryland, Windows started at River Hill in 1996 as the JV coach and took over as varsity coach in 1998. She left after the 2003 season to start the girls program at new Hanover High School near Richmond.

Windows is teaching AP U.S. government and politics at Freedom High School in South Riding.
