Junior Andrew Adams' 22 points led the Severn boys basketball team in its season opener, as the Admirals downed defending MIAA C Conference champion Key School last night, 65-37.
Sophomore Tre Duncan contributed 10 points for Severn, which pulled away from the Obezags with a 16-6 second quarter and a 17-6 third quarter.
"Severn absolutely torched us offensively, whether it was long jump shots or beating us down the court in transition," Key first-year coach James Peters said.
Junior guard Harrison Barton scored 12 points and had a team-high seven rebounds and senior point guard Jake Maldonado added 11 points for Key.
