Senior point guard Jake Maldonado and junior swingman Harrison Barton produced 15 points apiece for Key but it wasn't enough to overcome just enough defensive lapses and some clutch free throw shooting by host Severna Park, which won 61-53 to drop Key to 3-5 on the season.
Maldonado, who play all but a minute of the game, connected on four 3-pointers while Barton scored nine of his 15 in the second quarter to give Key a brief 18-17 lead. Senior guard Charlie Flanagan added nine points while senior center Anthony Fusco pulled down 10 rebounds.
