KEY 42, INDIAN CREEK 39
Senior Jake Maldonado converted two double bonus free throws in the final 20 seconds and the Key defense forced an off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer to hold off a furious comeback from Indian Creek.
Key (11-8, 9-3 MIAA C) led 22-6 after one quarter but numerous missed opportunities and turnovers allowed Indian Creek to close to within one, 40-39, with about a minute left. Key worked the clock to force the foul against Maldonado.
The defending champion Obezags have clinched at least the No. 2 seed and will host a MIAA C Conference semifinal game Tuesday. Junior Harrison Barton and senior Charlie Flanagan paced Key with 11 points apiece.
