South Lakes 8, Thomas Jefferson 1

 

In Liberty District baseball action Friday night, South Lakes HS prevailed at Thomas Jefferson by a score of 8 to 1.  Senior starter Ian Hostetler got the win giving up only 2 hits and 1 run over 6 innings pitched.  He also struck out 3.  In the 7th inning, senior Paul Kirchner came in to close the game for the Seahawks.  Offensively, the highlight of the night was when senior outfielder Noah Sweet launched a 2 run homer over the center field fence.  Sweet was 2 for 4, 2 RBI's.  The Seahawks offense was also sparked by senior catcher Scott Reed (2 for 3, 2B, BB, RBI), junior second baseman Jon Baamonde (2 for 4, RBI), and freshman third baseman Will Sweet (2 for 4).
