Reston (Apr. 24, 2009) - Stone Bridge High School traveled to South Lakes Friday night and in less than 90 minutes left with a 10-0 AAA Liberty District baseball win in five innings. Seniors Johnny Bladel and Ryan Cummings combined on a 2-hit shut out and Stone Bridge had two 5-run innings.   

Stone Bridge hitters grounded out six times in the first two innings as sidearmer Will Sweet was keeping the ball down.  But in the third the Stone Bridge hitters got to him for five runs. Junior. Dillon Bergered off with a walk and then senior Pat Piccolo and sophomore Spenser Rositano singled to load the bases. Senior Michael Prince got the first run across when he reached on an error and then Bladel cleared the bases with a double went to third on the throw and scored on a sacrifice fly by sophomore J.J. White. 

In the fifth, Stone Bridge put another five spot on the board to take a commanding 10-0 lead. Bladel got a one out single and White and junior Taylor Lambke both reached on errors to the load the bases.  Junior Michael Mattingly then drilled a double into the gap to clear the bases and scored on a single by senior Patrick Thompson, who went to third when the ball got by the outfielder and scored on a sacrifice fly by Berger. 

Cummings came on the pitch a scoreless fifth to end the game early on the 10-run slaughter rule.
