Ashburn (Apr. 30, 2009) - Stone Bridge High School senior Johnny Bladel pitched five no-hit innings Tuesday in an 11-0 win over Marshall, but lost his perfect game bid when a swinging third strike got by the catcher allowing the hitter to reach first. Junnior Taylor Lambke led the Stone Bridge attack with a inside the park home run, a double and four RBIs. 

Stone Bridge got on the board in the third when senior. Michael Prince walked, stole second and scored on a single by Bladel. Stone Bridge then blew it wide open in the fourth scoring eight runs to take a 9-0 lead.  Sophomore J.J. White led off with a walk and scored on a home run by Lambke.  Junior Mike Mattingly got hit by a pitch and scored on a triple by senior Patrick Thompson, who then socred on a wild pitch.  

Junior Dillon Berger got hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on a single by sophomore Spenser Rositano. Prince got hit by a pitch and Bladel walked to load the bases.  White hit a sacrifice fly and then Lambke doubled to knock in two more. 

In the bottom of the fifth junior T.J. O’Neal led off with a walk and after senior Brad Koch singled, junior Kevin Schofield hit a triple scoring O’Neal and Koch to end the game.  


Stone Bridge raised its record to 13-4 overall and 8-3 in the District.
