The Thomas Jefferson Colonials lost a district game 6-2 against
the Stone Bridge Bulldogs on Tuesday night (4/1/08). Mason Freedman had
a strong outing on the mound but three Colonial errors resulted
in four unearned Stone Bridge runs. J.B. Vande Sand collected
two of the five Colonial hits with a single and a double. Mason
Freedman added a key double of his own to knock in both Colonial
runs in the 7th inning. But the highlight of the night was two
plays by Johnnie Wildes who proved that he owns center field.
Wildes made a leaping catch at the fence to end the Bulldogs
threat in the 1st and an even more spectacular running and
tumbling catch to close out the 3rd inning. Freshman Tom Woodruff
started his first Varsity District baseball game at 3rd base for
the Colonials.
