The Colonials faced second place McLean and their ace Sean Fitzgerald at McLean. In the top of the fifth inning the Colonials were down 2-0 when TJ's pitcher, Mason Freedman, started a two out rally with a walk. A subsequent two base error left runners on second and third. Unfortunately, the Colonials were unable to break through against Fitzgerald who pitched a complete game one hitter against a depleted Colonial batting order. The Colonials were missing their leadoff hitter, JB Vande Sand, number three hitter Allan Allworth as well as Jon Wildes. Beau Pritchett had the Colonials only hit, a line drive single to right field. Mason turned in a solid outing, surrendering three runs on six hits over five innings. Three of the hits were weak infield grounders. He was supported well by a strong defense which included catcher Matt Callahan throwing out two base-runners, a spectacular catch in centerfield by Alex Radcliff, and five putouts at shortstop by Tom Woodruff.
