[5/6/08] J. B. Vande Sand led off the game with a double over the head of the left fielder and advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Tom Rudelius. However, a pop-up to the third basemen and a strikeout ended the Colonial threat. Chris Kilgore started on the mound for the Colonials and gave up only one hit through the first two innings. Chris was effectively mixing up his pitches and kept the Statesmen's hitters off balance. But after hitting the first batter in the bottom of the third inning, the next two hitters reached base on two consecutive infield errors. The Marshall hitters started hitting the ball sharply after those miscues and ended the inning on top by 6-0. They added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning with Patrick Still on the mound. The Colonials managed five hits on the night. Besides J. B.'s first inning double, Alex Radcliffe also doubled and Jon Wildes, Jeff Seibach, and Tom Rudelius each had singles. TJ lost by 10 run rule in 5 innings.
