In a Liberty District Tournament game, the TJ Colonials
collected three hits, four walks, and left five runners on base. J.B. Vande Sand led off the game with a walk
but TJ was unable to score in the inning.
Mason Freedman started the game on the mound for the Colonials and in
the bottom of the first inning served up one bad pitch, a three run home run by
Max Weizenegger. In the second inning,
Tom Woodruff hit a sharp double but was stranded at third base to end the
Colonials threat. TJ scored their lone
run in the top of the third when Tom Rudelius laid down a perfect bunt and
quickly stole second base. Beau
Pritchett then singled to earn an RBI on the night. Woodson collected two more runs in the third
inning, four in the fourth and two in the fifth inning. Ryan Stumvoll came on in relief for TJ in the
fourth inning. This was the last game
for the four seniors on the team, Alex Radcliffe, J.B. Vande Sand, Beau
Pritchett, and Tom Rudelius. Congratulations
to Alex who earned second team all district honors and J.B. and Beau who earned
all district honorable mention honors.
