On plus-side, either the Warriors or the Majors will earn an overdue win Friday.

On the downside, Wakefield or Mount Vernon will finish an ill-deserved winless season that night.

The teams have been scrapping and improving week-to-week, but neither has secured a win yet.

Both played three solid quarters against probably playoff participant Yorktown in recent weeks, but both yielded so many points in one quarter -- Wakefield the fourth, Mount Vernon the first -- the result was a lopsided loss.

Two players to watch are Warrior receiver Aaron Hunt and Major tailback Kenneth Harris, who have become featured offensive pieces in recent weeks.

I think it would be appropriate for this game to come down to a long field goal attempt by Mount Vernon senior Colin Amerau.

First, because a game like this needs to be close. Secondly, Amerau is a baller and I want to see him line up for a 45-yarder under pressure.

And the heat of preventing a winless season is more than any kick in the playoffs, hands down.

The Majors have won eight of the last 10 games in this series.

Keep an eye out for the devilishly handsome B.J. Koubaroulis, Washington Post contributor, on the sideline. He'll be covering this game tonight.
