1. Osbourn Park (6-0-0)
The Yellow Jackets have outscored their opponents 21-2 this season, including a 3-1 win over No. 8 Osbourn (April 1) and a 3-0 win over No. 6 Woodbridge (March 25). Osbourn Park hosts No. 3 Battlefield on Friday.
2. Robinson (4-1-1)
The Rams are the defending Virginia AAA State runners up and return both goalkeeper Samir Badr from a year-long stint at the U.S. National Team academy in Bradenton, Fl, and midfielder Connor Alexander from a back injury that cost him the entirety of last season. Robinson beat No. 4 Westfield, 3-1 on the road, on March 27.
3. Battlefield (5-0-0)
The Bobcats have outscored their opponents 16-4 this year, including a 2-1 win over No. 8 Osbourn (March 20). A marquee road match-up with No. 1 Osbourn Park looms this Friday.
4. Westfield (6-1-0)
The only Bulldog blemish is a 3-1 home loss to No. 2 Robinson. Westfield is the highest scoring team in the D.C. area, having posted 32 goals in its seven games, and its next three opponents have a combined five wins.
5. Edison (6-0-1)
The Eagles drew, 2-2, with No. 6 Woodbridge over Spring Break and have the second-highest goals per game average in the Northern Region. Edison faces a 16-day lay-off between matches, though, with its next game not until April 22 against Falls Church.
6. Woodbridge (3-1-1)
In its five games, the Vikings have faced three Top 10 teams: No. 1 Osbourn Park (3-0 loss), No. 5 Edison (2-2 tie) and No. 10 Park View (4-1 win). Woodbridge travels to Forest Park on Friday.
7. Wakefield (7-0-1)
Since a 3-3 draw with T.C. Williams on March 18, the Warriors have won five games in a row. Wakefield features Ethiopian attacking midfielder Iyassu Bekele and will face No. 5 Edison on April 24.
8. Osbourn (5-2-0)
Against teams outside of the top three-ranked teams, the Eagles are 5-0-0 and have outscored opponents 21-2. Osbourn’s pair of losses to Osbourn Park, 3-1, and Battlefield, 2-1, are its only two blemishes. The Eagles have a rematch with Bobcats on April 21.
9. McLean (4-2-0)
The Highlanders’ two losses are to No. 4 Westfield, 5-2 on March 23, and No. 7 Wakefield, 4-2 on March 12. McLean faces South Lakes and W.T. Woodson in the coming week before a pivotal Liberty District match at Langley on April 23.
10. Park View (4-2-1)
The Patriots feature junior super striker K.C. Onyeador, who may be the best pure goal-scorer in the Washington, D.C. area. Park View has 12 goals in its last four games (3-1-0), but is 0-2-0 against teams in the Top 10.
