The bigger issue, at least for the Eagles, is team health. Senior quarterback Levi Barber injured his knee in the third quarter at Stuart last week and senior three-way contributor Chris Washington did not play.
Washington is not expected to suit up the rest of the year.
Before Barber's injury, Edison averaged 7.59 yards per play. After he left the game, it averaged 1.06 yards per play.
Senior running back Angus Harper rushed 11 times for 99 yards and three scores before Barber went down, but just 10 times for 10 yards after.
Barber's initial prognosis was four weeks, but a second opinion was reportedly more optimistic.
Regardless, the Eagles have to find a way to do to the Hawks what only one team -- Chantilly -- has: Stop their running game.
Senior Anton McCallum, senior Rayshawn Rigans and sophomore Steve Lynch combined for 44 carries, 230 yards and four scores against Falls Church last week. That's after McCallum took his first five carries for 152 yards and four touchdowns against Stuart in Week 8.
If Eagle linebackers Rodney Colley and Chris Hook channel their inner Stephon Robertson, Edison will be in good shape. If not, Hayfield is running the district table in its first season competing there.
The Hawks have not scored this many points in five games (183) in 20 years.
