Dunbar's miraculous rally in the closing seconds on Thursday night advanced the Crimson Tide into the DCIAA boy's basketball final today at 4 pm. Dunbar plays Theodore Roosevelt who beat Ballou, 65-56.

Trailing by 4 points with 22 seconds left in the game, Carlton Ford (14 pts) made a twisting off-balance lay up to bring the Tide within 2 points of the Colts. Dunbar called timeout where Coach Johnnie Walker called for '"pressure defense and for his players to attack the basket after the steal", said Walker.  Junior Dartanion Lesane (11 pts) followed his coaches orders to perfection, "I pressed up on my man but I left him to trap the ball and I ended up with a steal", said Dartanion.  He passed the ball to teammate Darnell Summers who's jump shot bounced off the rim but Lesane who attacked the basket snatched up the rebound and put in a soft jumper as he was fouled by a Coolidge defender with 4 seconds remaining in the game. With most in attendance on their feet, Lesane sank the free throw which gave Dunbar a 1 point lead. Coolidge inbounded the ball but never got off a shot and Dunbar celebrated another appearance in the DCIAA championship game.

The Tide will face the Rough Riders of Roosevelt who defeated Dunbar twice this season but a confident Lesane commented, "if we play good defense and with the same intensity as we did today against Coolidge, we will be the DCIAA champs."
