There are no official results for this meet, although it looked like every team was doing their own recordkeeping!

There were 5 races run today - intermediate girls, intermediate boys, open girls, varsity girls and a combined JV/Varsity boys race. The crowd was loud and big. The weather was good, partly cloudy, a bit too humid, but not bad for the first race of the season.

Although it's hard to learn a lot in such an early practice meet, there were two messages sent loud and clear in the varsity races.

First, in the varsity girls division, Julie Besenbruch won in a time of about 19:30 (if I heard correctly). Julie ran smoothly and looked very strong after her time off last year. She's definitely back and should certainly be placed at the top or close to the top of the early season state rankings.

On the boys varsity side, Matt Nakamoto picked up where he left off last year winning by a big margin so he showed he's ready to defend his ILH championship.

Congratulations to the 5 winners pictured below!
