Leesburg (Feb. 7, 2009) - The Loudoun County High School girls gymnastic team won their first ever Dulles District title today.
Loudoun County was led by Senior Vicki Vesecky who took first in the All Around (36.32), the Bars (9.40 - school record), and the Beam (9.375). Freshman Jessica Drews tied Vesecky for second on Floor (8.9), nailed her bar routine to take second (8.975), and came in third in the All Around. Jessie Sheehan took first (9.15) in the vault performing the difficult Pike Tsukahara, which ties Katy Bauers school record.
The Freedom team had an outstanding meet taking second with Lilly Nguyen and Lauren McClure leading the way. Nguyen took second in the Vault (8.70). McClure took second on the Beam (8.60), and fourth on Floor (8.65), Bars (8.50) and the All Around (34.35).
Allie Daczkowski helped Potomac Falls win third place with her first place in the Floor routine (9.25) and second place in the All Around (34.725).
