SLOA Article Amendments for Consideration
Article IX Elections
Existing:
Each Officer and Director shall be elected at the Annual meeting, for a term of one year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th. No individual may serve more than two consecutive years as President.
Proposed:
Each Officer and Director shall be elected at the Annual meeting, for a term of one year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th. No individual may serve more than two consecutive years as President. In the event that a member cannot attend the annual meeting because of an excused absence (Bylaw IV, G), absentee ballot may be cast via email to the Chair of the Nomination and Ethics Committee by midnight two days (Saturday) prior to the Annual Meeting. Absentee ballots will be tallied at the Annual Meeting, the same time as the in-person votes.
Article XIII Amendments
Existing:
This Constitution may be amended at any Annual Meeting by an affirmative vote by two-thirds of the votes cast, providing that a copy of any amendment proposed shall be handed out to the members at any regularly scheduled meeting at least two weeks prior to the Annual Meeting at which the vote is to be taken. Any member who is not officially marked as “present” at the meeting at which any proposed amendment is handed out shall be mailed a copy of the proposed amendment within Three (3) days of such meeting.
