Barstow Girl Tennis: District
The highlight of the day was Barstow #1 doubles, Seniors Stephanie Dudzinski and Merideth Rock. Breezing through the first three rounds, dropping only one game, the girls won the district championship for the third consecutive year, this time 6-3, 6-4 securing a #1 seed in the Missouri State Championships October 24th and 25th in Springfield. Congratulations girls.
The Barstow girls’ tennis team had a great showing at district Thursday. Senior Sydney Ayers won her first two rounds of singles, advancing to the quarter finals before losing in the quarters. Doubles team Katie Anderson and Alexis Crowley won points by winning their first round, 6-2,6-3. Freshman Kate Sims won her first three rounds advancing to the semi-finals before losing to the eventual champion. Kate then moved on to the third place game defeating Pembroke Hill’s #1 singles player in convincing fashion, 8-1.
