GIRLS ARE CROSSROADS CONFERENCE XC CHAMPIONS!!

The first ever Crossroads Conference Cross Country Meet this morning started out like something out of a horror movie - complete with a smokey fog covering the course, back-in-the-woods trails with a little dog jump and a hunter thrown in for good measure! The conference teams were Lee's Summit Community Christian, Maranantha, Lone Jack, St. Mary's, Sherwood and Barstow.

Kaya LeGrand, 2nd, led this championship team, keeping in step with the LSCC top runner throughout the course but got passed right before the finish. Natalie Hays, 3rd,  passed St,. Mary's top runner before mile two and never looked back. Mackenzie Devins, 5th, and Brooke Kawamoto, 6th, ran the mushy course together, pushing each other through the finishline, with Erin Bax, 8th, keeping them close and rounding out our top five, all who medaled and finished All-Conference. Kathleen White ran her best of the year, finishing 11th and Victoria Hoss sprinted to a 15th place (but we felt she was 14th!). Emily Katz came in right behind Victoria in 16th and Allison Hall finished 33rd. What started out spooky, ended up GREAT! Great job, Knight Runners!!!!

It really was an exciting race, we had a blast! The dog and the hunter just made it more fun!
