MARYVALE PREP LOOKING TO REPEAT IN B SOCCER TOURNEY

Severn, St. Paul's SFG and Friends round out top four seeds

Coach Billy Reinhardt and his Maryvale Prep Lions won the IAAM B-Conference soccer championship a year ago. And they are looking to add another title to the trophy case this year.

The Lions finished in first-place with a mark of 6-0-2, just a pair of ties to Severn and Bryn Mawr keeping them from a perfect campaign.

Severn (6-1-1) was right behind, with just one loss, and St. Paul??s SFG (6-2) and Friends (4-3-1) round out the top four.

Park, St. John??s-CP, Chapelgate Christian and Bryn Mawr will look to get a road upset.

Here is a quick look at the ??B? soccer quarter-final match-ups for Tuesday, October 30.

#8 Bryn Mawr (1-6-1) @ #1 Maryvale Prep (6-0-2)
Bryn Mawr erased the pangs of a recent one-goal Spirit Day loss to rival Roland Park Country, beating the Reds, 3-1, in yesterday??s play-in game.  The Mawrtians took a 2-1 lead into the half and added an insurance goal in the second, while holding RPCS scoreless. King had two goals and MacDonald added one.

Bryn Mawr must turn around play again today, facing top-seed and defending champ Maryvale Prep. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie recently in their lone meeting.

#5 Park (4-3-1) @ #4 Friends (4-3-1)
Toss a coin on this one. Both teams have the exact same league record, and they played to a 1-1 tie in the season.

#6 St. Johns-CP (3-5) @ #3 St. Paul??s SFG (6-2)
The Gators get home field with the third seed, and defeated St. Johns Catholic Prep, 3-0 in their match.

#7 Chapelgate Christian (3-5) @ #2 Severn (6-1-1)
The Admirals handled the Yellowjackets, 3-0, in their league game.
