Cavert Hall made it six in a row with a 5-1 victory over McDonogh on Saturday on the new turf at Carlo Cispino Stadium in Towson.
The Eagles Peter Franklin had a big day, going 2 for 4 with an RBI at the plate, while holding the Cardinal line-up to just 3 hits
in six innings solid innings on the hill. Senior lefty Greg Terry went four innings to get the win for the Cards. Terry got help
from Kevin Lingerman and Mike Trionfo, who closed out the day for Coach Lou Eckerl.
Justin Anderson was 2 for 3 with and RBI and a run scored for the Hall, and Pat Blair got the only other hit, and drove in a run.
The win tied the Cardinals for first place with both Spalding and Curley in the MIAA-A Conference at 3-0, and Loyola is right behind
at 2-0. The Dons invade Crispino Stadium on Monday, and Bobby Kirby, who held John Carroll to one-hit over five innings in
his first conference start last week, is expected to face Cardinal right-hander Mike Dillon, who four-hit St.Joe last week in Irvington.
Dons' Coach Mike DelGaudio might call on junior lefty Ryan Taylor. Taylor has four wins and an ERA of 0.25 in 28 innings
of work so far this season.
On Wednesday, Cavert Hall travels to Anne Arundel County to face a strong Spalding squad, paced by Kody Hines (.472), Jeff Kemp(.441),
and Matt Hillsinger (.436).
Blair (.414) and Lingerman (.367) lead the Cardinal attack.
