After opening league play with a loss, Milford Mill High boys’ basketball team has surged its way near the top of the Baltimore County 3A/4A league standings. The Millers moved into second place Wednesday evening, knocking off No. 15 Parkville, 48-45, on Washington Avenue.

Senior forward Christopher Code scored 16 points to lead Milford Mill (7-8, 5-1), which has won five of its last seven decisions. Sophomore forward Josh Corbett led Parkville (11-6, 5-2) with 16 points.

The Millers’ lone league loss is a 59-57 decision to first-place and 13th ranked Woodlawn at home. The Warriors remained unbeaten with an 80-67 victory over Dundalk Wednesday.

Parkville looks to rebound Friday against at Patapsco. Milford Mill will host Dundalk.

Darius Nesmith and Vincent Gray each scored 20 points, leading No. 13 Woodlawn past Dundalk. Senior guard Keon Bennett added 11 points for the Warriors (11-3, 6-0), who outscored the Owls, 48-34, in the second half.

Jermon Baccus led all scorers with 28 points for Dundalk (4-9, 2-4), and Kevin Watkins and Travis Davis added 17 and 15, respectively. The Owls travel to Milford Mill Friday evening in league action while Woodlawn is at Franklin.

Micquante Greene scored a game-high 24 points as Patapsco (11-4, 3-3) won its second straight decision. Mark Davis had 17 points, and junior guard Mac Gearhart 10 for the Generals (5-10, 1-5).

Patapsco will host No. 15 Parkville Friday evening in league action, while Towson travels to Catonsville.

Senior guard Alex Frederick and junior guard Jamie Cowherd each had a game-high 22 points as Dulaney (8-9, 2-4) scored 44 first half points en route to a road win Wednesday evening.

Junior guard Jordan Pinkney and sophomore Brandon Miles each scored 11 to lead Catonsville (2-13, 0-6), and senior Keith Phillips had 10. Dulaney hosts Hereford Friday evening, and Catonsville welcomes Towson.

Senior Jamal Jones scored 14 points, and Durant Harvin had 12 as Franklin held off Kenwood Wednesday evening in Reisterstown. Senior forward Devon Herbert had 10 points for Franklin (7-10, 3-3), which had a 10-point halftime advantage.

Charles Taylor had a game-high 21 points to lead Kenwood (6-8, 3-3), and senior guard Julien Rosaly contributed 11. Franklin hosts No. 13 and league-leading Woodlawn Friday evening while Kenwood is at Perry Hall.

Ben Wareheim scored a game-high 24 points, and Sam Sarris contributed 16 as Hereford won on the road for its third consecutive decision. The Bulls (11-5, 5-1) outscored Perry Hall, 43-32, over the final 16 minutes to move into a second-place tie with Milford Mill.

Chris Sokolis had 12 points to lead Perry Hall (4-13, 2-4) and Jon Tyscko and DaVante Farrell each contributed 11. Hereford is at Dulaney Friday evening in league action while Perry Hall hosts Kenwood.
