Monrovia
bounced back from a heart breaking loss to Northview in the opening round to
defeat Riverton Parke 72-48 in second round action of the Wabash Valley
Classic. The Bulldogs used the first and third quarters to inflict the majority
of the damage on the Panthers. Monrovia outscored their Parke County opponents
14-4 in the opening period and 21-8 in the third stanza.
Jordan Standeford
led Monrovia with 17 points in the game. Tim Conner added 11 markers. The
victory moves the Bulldogs into a third round match with Turkey Run on Monday
afternoon. The Warriors defeated Linton on Saturday to move into the contest.
The winner will play for the consolation bracket championship on Tuesday.
