Staff Report

People do not normally think of the WCC as one of the stronger volleyball conferences in Indiana. Perhaps they should. Players from the league appear throughout the list of state statistical leaders.

The group is led by Connie Owens of Speedway who is in the top 15 in two categories.  She is eighth in kills with an average of 4.52 per game and tenth in hitting percentage at .459. Her running mate is 16th in assists with an average of 8.52 per game.

Three other squads have placed players on the list. Monrovia’s Danielle Frentz is fifth in serving, averaging 1.38 aces per game. She is closely followed by Katelyn Sibbitt of South Putnam who is ninth with an average of 1.2 per game. Finally, Kimber Laxton of Cloverdale is tenth in digs with an average of 5.36 per game.
