Calvert Hall began defense of their MIAA championship on Tuesday with a double win over McDonogh and Mt. St. Joseph at the McDonogh School.
The only minus to the day for the Cardinals was the first place finish by Demetrios Pagonis of McDonogh who won in 15:55 over the 2.95 mile course.
Calvert Hall took the next five spots led by Chris Swisko at 16:02.
Steve Childres was the first finisher for Mt. St. Joseph in seventh place at 16:38.
In the JV race, Calvert Hall took the first 17 places with Buck Schultze winning in 16:47
