Junior attacker Donovan Lange scored three times and dished out five assists to lead the Northeast High School boys lacrosse team to a 17-6 victory over visiting Patuxent in the Class 3A-2A East Region quarterfinals on Saturday.

The Eagles (10-5) will host Annapolis (9-6) -- an 11-10 overtime winner at Stephen Decatur -- in the semifinals on Monday at 5 p.m. Northeast nipped the Panthers, 9-8, in the teams' regular-season meeting April 4 in Pasadena.

It was a balanced offensive attack for Northeast, which had eight different players score and opened a 7-2 first-quarter lead.

Senior attacker Corbin Voelker notched three goals and four assists while senior attacker Mark Donahey added four goals. Seniors Mike Tibbs and Zach West added two goals, apiece.

Experience paid dividends as the Eagles had 14 seniors on the field compared to just three from Patuxent. Northeast peppered the Panthers' cage with 55 shots and won eight more faceoffs.

Senior goalkeeper Pat Beary and junior Ray Hesse combined for eight saves for the Eagles.
