BLAZERS TAME GRIZZLIES FOR SECOND TIME THIS WEEK

Notre Dame Prep tennis defeats Garrison Forest, 4-1, improves to 4-2 in IAAM

Groundhog Day?  Bill Murray fans may remember him awakening to the same results each day in that movie.  Something akin to what the Garrison Forest tennis team felt like after falling to Notre Dame Prep, 4-1 on Thursday, after also losing to them on Monday.  Same week, different day, same result.

On Monday, the two teams played a match in Towson which was a reschedule of a previous rain-out.  The Blazers posted a 5-0 win.

Then the same two teams played on Thursday in Owings Mills.  Same result.

Only a win by Garrison??s Freddie Gevis at #1 singles prevented a shutout.  Kasey Harvey gave NDP a win at #2 singles, and the Blazers swept the three doubles matches.

Sandwiched in between those two wins was another match on Tuesday, in which NDP carved out a 3-2 win over Mount de Sales.  It was a busy week for the NDP tennis players, with probably a few sore shoulders by weekend.

The three victories pushed NDP to 4-2 on the season, including an earlier 5-0 win over McDonogh.  The Blazers have lost to both Roland Park Country and Bryn Mawr, but will get another shot at both in upcoming weeks.

The Blazers host the Reds next week on Tuesday October 2, and then get the Mawrtians at home on October 11.  Whether it??s the same result remains to be seen.  Bill Murray would have it no other way.

Below are the results from Thursday??s match versus Garrison.
