A REPEAT FOR ANNAPOLIS AREA?

Anne Arundel County team, Towson Catholic are top seeds for IAAM C volleyball postseason

          Annapolis Area Christian and Towson Catholic will be the top seeds for the IAAM C Conference tournament which begins Friday afternoon. Annapolis Area, which won the title in its first season in the conference last year, will host either St. Frances Academy or Catholic in a quarterfinal Monday afternoon. Catholic hosts St. Frances in Friday's opening round.
 
          The other opening round match will have Oldfields School at Mount Carmel, with winner advancing to play Towson Catholic Monday. Glenelg Country School at St. Timothy's and Friends School hosting Beth Tfiloh will be the other quarterfinals.

          The semifinals will be on Halloween afternoon at the higher seed at 4:15 p.m. The finals will be Nov. 3 at Villa Julie College.

Opening round, Friday Oct. 26
St. Frances (No. 5 Red division) at Catholic (No. 4 Gold), 4:15

St. Frances went winless in league play including a four-set loss to Catholic. Catholic won only two of seven league home games.

Oldfields (No. 5 Gold) at Mount Carmel (No. 4 Red), 4:15
Mount Carmel swept Oldfields in regular season meeting. Oldfields' only league win triumph came against winless St. Frances.

Quarterfinals, Monday. Oct. 29
Glenelg Country (No. 3 Gold) at St. Timothy's (No. 2 Red)

St. Timothy's won in four games at Glenelg during the regular season. Five of Glenelg Country's eight wins this season came on the road.

Beth Tfiloh (No. 3 Red) at Friends (No. 2 Gold)

Friends outlasted Beth Tfiloh in five games during regular season. Friends won six of its last seven league games to finish regular season.
