The Old Helmet
History of the Game
It began in 1972 when Onalaska Coach Ed Simons and Mossyrock’s Mike McIntee agreed to have a symbol for the age-old rivalry between the Loggers and the Vikings. Coach Simons furnished the helmet, which was being used at the time, and Coach McIntee did the painting.
If the school in possession of the Old Helmet loses the game, the head Coach and four ball players travel to the winning school at their next pep assembly and present the helmet. There is no presentation if the team in possession wins the game.
