The Loggers victory was highlighted by the play of junior quaterback, Dalton Ritchey who put up Tim Tebow type numbers. Dalton put on an impressive show with both his arms and his legs, finishing with 203 yards on the ground and 101 yards through the air. He threw for two touchdowns, and rushed for another three. Dalton even had time to pick off an interception. The highlight of the game was Ritchey's 70 yard scamper for a TD on the very first play from the line of scrimmage for the Loggers.
Also, playing well for the Loggers was senior tailback Cody Naillon as he ran hard against the scrappy Mossyrock defense. Cody was making his return to action after missing all of last year due to an back injury. Jeff Swett, Onalaska's big tight end also played well both defensively and offensivley. Another bright spot for Ony was the defensive play of Travis Russell, who played havoc in the offensive backfield of the Vikings.
Overall, it was a good opening for Onalaska as they prepare for their first league opener, at Tenino this coming Friday - September 11th. Game time 7:00 pm.
