After reaching the 1,000 career point mark Tuesday, Mount Carmel guard Troy Franklin added to his total Friday evening. The Towson University bound Franklin had 11 in the Cougars' win over Boys' Latin.

Rummel King had 19 points, five rebounds and two assists to lead 11 scorers as No. 14 Mount Carmel defeated Boys' Latin, 88-63, in a MIAA B North division contest Friday on Old Eastern Avenue. Troy Franklin, who surpassed the 1,000 point career mark earlier in the week, had 11 points and four assists and senior center Marcanthony Franks scored 11 with five rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Cougars (19-2 overall, 10-1 league) jumped out to a 22-4 advantage and had a 45-14 halftime margin against the Lakers (4-13, 4-6). Stanford McNair and Bilal Small each had 10 for the Baltimore County school.

Mount Carmel will go for its 20th victory Tuesday as it travels to Friends School. Wednesday evening, the Cougars welcome No. 1 Mount St. Joseph in a matchup of arguably the best in the MIAA B and A, respectively.
