Gilyard claims MVP honors for Falcons in Holiday tournament.

Overlea High boys' basketball team claimed the Harford Tech Holiday Tournament crown with a 54-52 victory over host Harford Tech. James Gilyard was the tourney's most valuable player, scoring 32 points and handing out 11 assists in the two games for the Falcons (5-3).

In the opening round, Overlea defeated Carver A&T, 70-53. B.J. Smith scored 32 points in two games and joined Gilyard on the all-tournament team. Earl Davis and Chris Jones added 33 and 25 rebounds, respectively. Overlea will travel to Pikesville Friday evening.
