Former SAC Player Drafted by the MLS
The Colorado Rapids took (JJ) Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe in the second round of the MLS Super Draft. He was the 28th overall pick in the draft, and the Rapid's first pick.
Kwame played for the U17 and U18 SAC United team under coach Bill Stara. Kwame graduated high school from Eleanor Roosevelt in Prince Georges County. Kwame earned two varsity letters playing for the Raiders and earned All-County honors in 2005. Kwame continued his soccer career by playing for St. Francis University for two years and transferred to George Mason for the remaining two years of his collegiate career. In his career at Mason, Kwame earned All-CAA honors and led the Patriots to its first conference championship since 1989. Kwame was named most outstanding player of the CAA Conference Championship by scoring the only goal in the 1-0 vicotry over Hofstra for the Conference Crown. The Patriots advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and fell to eventual national champion, the Maryland Terrapins.
