Six Magruder wrestlers have advanced into Saturday's Class 4A-3A West Regional semifinals, giving the Colonels a 63-53 lead over second-place Walt Whitman, as well as the lead over Montgomery County Tournament champ Damascus (44 points), which is ranked 16th in the DigitalSports-Maryland State Wrestling Association.
Moving forward for the Colonels were Jordan Tolbert (103), Helen Maroulis (112), Max Schneiderman (119), Alex Tolbert (135), Stephen Norcio (145) and Chris Ralli (152).

Maroulis has split bouts this season with Paint Branch's Danny Lethbridge, who defeated her for the county title last week.
Walt Whitman has moved eight wrestlers into the semifinals, with Dylan Symington (103), Andrew Follman (112), Joe Hancher (119), Eric Beverly (140), Steve Fisher (152), Aaron Norris (160), Taylor Leighton (171) and Danny Lee (215) all advancing.
For third-place Damascus, Eddie Obendorfer (135), Shane Boyd (140), Zeke Gammill (145), Steve Richards (189) and county champs Brian Wittenberger (171) and Josh Frederick (215) still are alive heading into the semifinals.
State runner-up Sean McCarty (130) of Northwest, who, last week, joined Sherwood's state runner-up Steve Gamble in winning his third straight county title, improved his school career record mark to 140 with his school-record 94th career pin.
Montgomery County champs Steve Miller (140) and Tim Stewart (160) of Paint Branch; Joseph (125) and Carlo Galeano (145) of Springbrook (145); Josh Lowy (135) and state runner-up Steve Gamble (152) of Sherwood; Rasheim Smith (103) of Blake; and Terrence Stephens (285) of Quince Orchard all advanced into the semifinals.
McCarty, Okeyo, Frederick and Stephens remained unbeaten at 33-0, 27-0, and, 26-0, respectively.
Carlo Galeano earned career victory No. 101.
