Finberg has been recognized as one of the top high school soccer coaches
in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and
Adidas. Finberg was named NSCAA/ADIDAS New England Region
Private/Parochial Coach of the Year and was a nominee for National
Private/Parochial Coach of the Year along with seven other regional
winners. Finberg received his award at the NSCAA High School Awards
Banquet in St. Louis at the NSCAA annual convention last week.

Finberg, who has won multiple awards for outstanding coaching both this
year and in years past commented on the honor, Finberg said: "It is a
great honor to be recognized in Connecticut and to be recognized
nationally is very gratifying. This recognition would not be possible
without the support I receive from the South Kent School, the South Kent
community and the great student-athletes that I've been fortunate
enough to work with throughout my career."

Finberg was also honored by the Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association
as the 2008 Prep Coach of the Year. He was presented his second CSCA
Coach of the Year Award at the annual CSCA banquet. He had previously
received that honor in 2006.

He also received the Thomas E. Krusewski Memorial Award as
"Outstanding Young Coach" from the Connecticut Junior Soccer
Association for 2008. CJSA oversees all amateur soccer in Connecticut
from the youth level through college play.

South Kent's soccer team won the Class B New England championship
this year, the team's second New England championship in the last
three years. The team also won the Ray Brown Cup as the best team during
the regular season in Western New England and finished the season with a
school best 17-2-1 record.  For more information on Coach Finberg and
