Saints Peter & Paul avoided a letdown heading into its biggest game of the season, thus far, as it traveled to Towson yesterday and defeated host Baltimore Lutheran, 45-14, to remain unbeaten in MIAA C Conference basketball action.  With the victory, the Sabres set the stage for today's first-place battle, at home, with Key School, which is the only other remaining unbeaten in conference play.

Lutheran, which is stuggling through a tough year, posed little threat to Saints Peter & Paul, which is now 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the league.  The Sabres spread the wealth as Gaines Shannahan scored 10, while Micah Steinmiller, John Kaestner and John Mlynarski each scored eight points.

Key, which defeated Lutheran one day earlier, is 4-0 in the conference and 6-7 overall.  The Obezags, who reached the MIAA C Conference playoffs for the first time in school history last year, are now making a bid for the top seed in the regular season.

Although there is still a long way to go, today's trip across the Bay Bridge is a big endeavor towards reaching that goal.  Tipoff this afternoon in Easton is slated for 3:30 pm.
