10/24/2009 - The Bishop Ireton High School Boy's Varsity Football defeated team. The score was 48 to 0 in a league contest played at Bishop Ireton High School.
In all the rain, the Cardinals showed their skill and unmatched talent against Sidwell Friends. Sophomore Moses Webb, scored the first 6 points of the game. While rushing for over 75 yards and scoring again in the 3rd quarter, the Cardinals were able to get the entire squad in on the action. "What better way to play football than in the rain" parents shouted. Everyone was thrilled to see the score board jump up on running plays and touch downs for Vines (senior), Briar (junior), and Bladden( sophomore) to close the game at 48-0. Although our offense was strong, our defense was well coached with Junior, Anthony Rivers, and Sophomore, Robert Banez making some heart stopping hits. Let it rain, let it rain for our next victory against Friendship Collegiate. Go Cardinals!!!
