It was a good Easter Saturday for the St. Frances baseball team as the Panthers visited Hillside School, in Fayettesville, NC, and swept a double-header, yesterday, for their first victories of the year.
In the first game, Darrell Anderson tossed five strong innings, with seven strikeouts, to lead the Panthers to a 10-1 win. He also went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Davante Brown also had two hits and an RBI, while Avon Coleman and Devan Hill each scored a pair of runs.
In the second game, the Panthers also jumped out quickly, grabbing an 8-0 lead, and rolled to 14-9 win. Terrance Blair had the big bat, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored with an RBI and a stolen base. In addition, Reggie Wallace was 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two stolen bases.
Hill started the second game, allowing five runs in six innings to get the win.
With the wins, St. Frances (2-5) halted a five-game season-opening losing streak.
