In a special ceremony on April 18 during halftime of the St. Mary’s Boys Lacrosse game opposite Loyola Blakefield at the Saints' artificial turf field at St. John Neumann, Principal Richard Bayhan and members of the school's board will accept a check for $165,000 representing a gift from the Royal Blue Club to cover the cost of the scoreboard.

The gift reflects a fundraising effort led by the Royal Blue Club, with the specific leadership of Ed Mullen, John Schilling and Victor Lilly.

A St. Mary’s alumnus, Lilly was responsible for securing advertising sponsors from businesses throughout the community. The lead sponsors whose names will appear on the board are: Zachary’s Exquisite Jewelry, Adams Automotive, Papa Johns Pizza (owned by St. Mary’s alumnus Ray Sears) and Fichtner Services.

Established in 1989, the Royal Blue Club is a non-profit organization devoted to fostering excellence in St. Mary’s High School Athletics through financial and booster support. The club helps subsidize the ever increasing costs of running a first-rate athletic program.  The club supplies funds needed over and above the regular athletic department budget.

St. Mary’s Field in honor of Robert A. Pascal, was dedicated in August 2007.
