Princeton-bound playmaker Cliff Larkin of St. Paul's made a big impact in only his second game back from an injury, scoring four goals and assisting on two others, with teammate Adam Johnston scoring five times, and Mike Faby winning 13 of 17 faceoffs as the Crusaders improved their record to 6-5 on the year with Tuesday's 13-5 victory over visiting Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference rival Archbishop Spalding.


The Crusaders, ranked 10th in the DigitalSports Top 20, received a team-high five ground balls from Johnston, with Larkin scooping four GB's and Peter Gurny adding a goal and an assist against the 15th-ranked Cavaliers (4-3, 0-2), who lost for the third straight time.


Also contributing with one goal each were Alex Chay, Taylor Michel and Zach Linkous, with one assist each from Pat Powderly, Jake Shipley, Matt Lunnen and Ty Feeley.


Defenseman Peter Windsor had a solid overall game with two take-aways on perfectly executed double teams, while also scooping four ground balls. Dimetri Hajimihalis and Nick Loverde combined for 11 saves in the goal while subbing for injured keeper Harry Krieger.


The Crusaders visit Garden City of Long Island, N.Y. on Saturday, where they have a scheduled noon showdown opposite a teama that is ranked fifth nationally.


The Crusaders return to league play on Tuesday at Severn, which is ranked 13th in the DigitalSports Top 20.
