Stone Bridge (5-0, 2-0) at Fairfax (2-3, 1-1)
Last Week: Stone Bridge won vs. Marshall, 28-0; Fairfax lost vs. Madison, 21-7
Playoff Position (SOS): Stone Bridge (Div 5) 2nd; Fairfax (Div 6) 11th
Stone Bridge and Fairfax have never met.
The Bulldogs are 30-0 all-time in the Liberty District, the league the Rebels used to run in the 1990s.
Stone Bridge enters having not allowed a point in over eight quarters, but its last two opponents are a combined 0-10. Still, it gave up seven net yards last week.
Fairfax is coming off a game against the top-ranked defense in Division 5, Madison, but struggled to put points on the board, falling at home, 21-7.
The Rebels took better care of the ball than in past weeks, but still fumbled a kickoff at the end of the first half and gave the Warhawks the ball at the plus-20-yard line after a 15-yard punt in the third quarter.
Those two miscues led to 10 points.
They can not make similar mistakes if they expect to beat the Bulldogs, the two-time defending Division 5 champions.
Stone Bridge senior running back Marcus Harris is pushing himself, week-by-week, into the category of the Bulldogs' tremendous all-time tailbacks.
In the last three weeks, he's accounted for 433 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He's also caught two scores.
Stone Bridge's 28-point win last week tied for third-closest district margin of victory since 2005.
