North Central (Indianapolis) flexed its muscles Jan. 20 in a dual meet at Center Grove as both the second-ranked Panther boys and No. 5 girls easily outdistanced the Trojans' No. 14 boys and third-ranked girls in this late-season showdown. The North Central girls posted a 106-80 upset victory, while the boys triumphed 115-71.

The relays were a big factor in the outcome as North Central swept all but one relay on both sides of the meet. Center Grove did break through to capture the girls 200-yard medley relay.

The big names from both squads lived up to billing, though not necessarily in the events they are best known for swimming. North Central senior Brandon Siemasko claimed victories in two events, easily capturing the 100 backstroke and the 500 freestyle. Siemasko was also part of the Panthers’ winning 200 medley relay team. On the other side, Center Grove senior Noah Pashley won both the 50 and 100 free events for the Trojans.

Allie Day, the highly regarded Center Grove sophomore, was dominating in winning the girls 500 free. North Central’s big gun on the female side, Lauren Massey, sprinted to victory in the 100 freestyle.

On this page are highlights of Pashley’s victory in the boys 50 free as well as the performance of North Central’s Alec La Mothe in winning the 200 free. Enjoy!
